Medical Health Centers

At Medical Health Centers, we strive to provide the highest quality back-to-back hands on clerkships, observations, externships and research opportunities at ACGME/Greenbook accredited sites to all medical students.

Students at Medical Health Centers also match at ACGME/Green book accredited residency programs in almost all medical specialties and subspecialties at top teaching hospitals and respected medical centers across the U.S.

Students work directly with our experienced staff to schedule their inpatient and outpatient rotations, so they know they are getting the best clinical clerkships possible. We complete all verification paperwork for state licensure once you match into residency.

TESTIMONIALS

Hear what our students and partners have to say.

I just wanted to reach out to you and MHC to let you know how wonderful the Interventional Radiology rotation was. My plan is to pursue Family Medicine and this rotation so suited my education on the newest technology in treating some of the most common arterial and vein issues that I have seen daily on rotations and will always continue to be an issue for the Family Physician. The skills learned in assessment and diagnosing patients accurately then following through with the treatment plan was amazing.

I know many of our students will not appreciate this rotation, but the preceptor has so much knowledge and he truly has a gift with students and education. The preceptor has invited me to return for future training after graduation and licensure in vein procedures that I will be able to provide as a family physician, and wishing to practice in a very rural setting this will be a game changer and improve the quality of life for many patients.

So please pass along that I am a very happy and a pleased student with how MHC has treated me and placed me in some of the best rotations I could have ever had. Thank you so much.

FAQS

Some of your Questions:

Q. I have not submitted an application with MHC. How can I find out what rotations you have available?

A. We cannot disclose available rotations until you have a complete and processed application on file with us.

Q. When can I start my rotation?

A. After we have received your complete application and there is availability in the rotation you desire.

Q. I am not in good standing with my school. Can I start my rotation anyway?

A. Please connect with your school. This is important as later on when you apply for a job, your employer will ask for an explination. Yes they will find out.

Q. How do I schedule my rotations for the entire year right now?

A. You must have a complete application on file with us and a letter of good standing for the duration of time you are requesting rotations. For example, if you want to schedule rotations for an entire year, your letter must say you are in good standing for the entire year (i.e.: tuition must be paid for the entire year).

Q. I do not have immunization titers and it is going to take weeks to get them because I do not live in the U.S. Can I start rotations anyways?

A. No. It is against hospital policy for any student to rotate without current immunization documents on file.

Q. What is a 2 step PPD (TB) test and why do I need it?

A. You have a PPD placed, read by a medical professional, and then repeat this processes again. The second PPD must be placed and read within 90 days of the first PPD. Most of our sites require this.

Q. How often do I need to get a PPD test?

A. Yearly. If it expires while you are in a rotation, you will be removed from your rotation. Please get one done every 10 months to avoid this situation

Q. I have a history of positive PPD result. Do I still need to get a PPD test?

A. No. Please provide a copy of your chest x-ray results along with your application. The chest x-ray must have been done within the last 8 months.

Q. How can I pay my application fee?

A. We accept debit or credit cards through our website located in the Store tab, money orders, cashier’s checks, bank drafts and cash. It must be in U.S. dollars.

Q. Can I pay the $95 fee later when I come to the US for my rotations?

A. No. It must be submitted with your application. Your application is incomplete without it.

Q. I have completed my application. How can I get it to you?

A. You can either mail it to us at 7650 S. County Line Road 2nd Floor, Burr Ridge, IL 60527 or drop it off. If you mail or overnight your application, please DO NOT require a signature upon delivery.

Q. I live in Canada. Do I still need to do an Illinois background check?

A. Yes. Please fill out the document we provide you and submit it with your application.

Q. I do not live Illinois. Can I get a background check from wherever I live and submit that in my application instead?

A. No. Please fill out the Illinois background check we provide you and submit it with your application.

Q. How do I find housing and transportation while I am doing my rotation?

A. It is your responsibility. If MHC has available information, we will provide it.

Q. Can I start my rotation without a Step 1 score?

A. Yes. Many hospitals do not require a Step 1 score to start rotations.

Q. Why do I need to pay the application fee? Is the fee refundable?

A. The application fee is NONREFUNDABLE. It covers application processing and handling, courier services to deliver your file to sites, and a back ground check. It is a one-time fee.
