At Medical Health Centers, we are committed to creating meaningful learning opportunities for our students. One way we support professional development is by encouraging involvement in research and scholarly publication. Through the mentorship of our experienced preceptors, many of our students have had the opportunity to contribute to published work while gaining valuable experience in academic writing and research.
Under the guidance of Dr. Frederick Tiesenga, students have collaborated on a number of scholarly publications covering a broad range of clinical topics. These projects help students develop essential skills in literature review, critical appraisal, manuscript preparation, and scientific communication.
Many current and former students from our program have contributed as co-authors, gaining firsthand experience in the publication process while contributing meaningful insights to the healthcare community. Participation in scholarly work not only strengthens students’ academic foundations but also helps prepare them to practice evidence-based medicine throughout their careers.
To explore the full collection of publications and see the work our students have contributed to, visit Dr. Tiesenga’s Cureus author page. Several of the articles feature current and former students from our program as contributing authors.
Opportunities like these reflect our commitment to mentorship, professional growth, and the advancement of evidence-based practice. We are proud of the work our students and preceptors accomplish together and look forward to supporting future scholars in their academic and professional journeys.
